Differences between Stepan and Grabner struggling is huge. Grabner was brought here to kill penalties and a solid 4th line role player, he has far exceeded that for his 1.65 million. I suggested a few games ago moving Grabner to the 4th line and putting Buchnevich on the 3rd line with Hayes and Miller. Get Stepan off the power play, when the PP is that bad you need to change it up, give Clendening a try.

I know, just pointing out that both are struggling, that's all. Stepan clearly was being counted on more than Grabner. But Grabner's fine start to the year has given him more responsibility and he being relied upon more.

Do you think it's an injury to Stepan? 17 games is a long time to struggle like this.

Maybe the Rangers were tired but CBJ had to be too, playing the exact same time the day prior & winning both games.

Missed most of the game, and what I did see was Jackets hustling and the Rangers looking gassed.
I've always had the position of trying to win every game regardless of matchups. What you wrote is exactly right, we could slump and another team could get hot putting us on the outside watching from the stands, rather than at ice level.

Devil fans (there's an oxymoron for ya)always get extra saucy after losing to the Rangers. I would be pretty bored with my team & fixated on my rival too if I was in his shoes.

Staal stood out to me last night, he seemed "un-engaged" in the game.
Getting beat by more aggressive forecheckers to pucks in the corners and in the defensive zone. I'm hoping it wasn't because of his injury history and because he was afraid of Columbus' style of play, because they play a hard heavy game.

They didn't play a great game, and it was a tough loss, you don't have to dissect every game, hopefully they get right back to it, but he really stood out to me watching from a defenseman's perspective.
